Admissions Procedure
Parents contact the school via telephone or e-mail
info [at] lwis-istanbul.com.tr
to arrange a visit.
Learners must be age appropriate to the grade level for which they are applying to (K-12).
Parents fill out a basic information sheet by visiting our campus or sent via email.
The Principal holds an interview with the parent(s) and learner(s). She will enquire about academic, social and behavioral background. The Principal will also introduce the school and all its aspects (philosophy, academic programs, student body, staff, and campus).
Applicants to Kindergarten and Grade 1 will be interviewed by the Early Childhood Head and a play-based assessment will be conducted.
Applicants to Grades 2-12, sit for a placement test in English Language Arts and Mathematics. For Arab learners, a placement test in Arabic is also required. The Arabic/French and Turkish tests are a level test only. The results of this test will not affect the admission decision.
Admission and placement is determined based on results of the interview, the academic placement test, and previous school-related reports.
Parents are informed of the admission decision, recommendations, and conditions usually within 48 hours of the placement tests through email, phone or scheduled appointment.
The registration process is complete once an admission letter is issued and registration fees are paid.
Prospective parents are then requested to complete a detailed application. The application is either given personally to parents or sent via e-mail. Parents are also provided with a detailed list of required documents to be submitted before the start of the school year.
